Class #27 Ordination

On December 20 and 21 the Jewish Spiritual Leaders’ Institute ordained its 27th cohort of Rabbis. At a lovely, spiritual virtual service the three candidates discussed the future of the rabbinate, shared their final papers and their hopes and dreams with each other and members of the Bet Din.

The Bet Din included Rabbi Steve Blane, founder and dean of JSLI, Rabbi Billy Love, a judge in Philadelphia and Rabbi Deborah McKenzie who has an online following and is a chemist by day.

The newest JSLI alumni hail from  Arizona, New Jersey, and Colorado.  Two of them, Rabbis Shoshana Karlin and Michael Kengmana will be leading Havdalah services for Sim Shalom, the online Synagogue weekly on Saturday evenings.
